Non-Representational Art
(aka non-objective)
Art without reference to anything outside itself - without representation, without recognisable objects
For this lit circle role you may create your own non-representational art, or you may find a picture or object that someone else created and bring it in to share.
You must decide on a theme or concept that inspired your art choice. Everyone will have 2 minutes to look at the art and come up with their own interpretation. After everyone else has shared you will present your own concept.
Some concepts/themes to think about:
Universal Themes:
1. Change 6. Patterns
2. Conflict 7. Power
3. Exploration 8. Structure
4. Force or Influence 9. Systems
5. Order 10. Relationships
Universal Themes and Generalizations are from S. Kaplan and J. Curry, 1985
